ROBERTO BATTISTON
Experimental Physics
Since 1992 Full Professor of Experimental Physics at the Department of Physics, University of Trento.
For more than 35 years he has been involved in international research projects. He has coordinated scientific projects of great size and complexity (CERN, Stanford, space). Together with Nobel laureate Samuel C.C. Ting, he coordinated the realization of the experiment to search for antimatter, installed on the International Space Station (AMS).
He chaired the Italian Space Agency (ASI) from 2014 to 2018. He proposed and supported the development of Italy’s first public-private investment fund for space (Space economy).
Author of more than 460 articles published in international journals, he is a columnist for La Stampa and l’Adige. He writes in Repubblica, Corriere della Sera, and Domani.
